03 / OPTIONAL ROUTES
Side quests.
Extra context if you want it. These never hold up your route to Picard.
SIDE QUEST 01 / DISCOVERY
The Discovery detour.
Discovery Seasons 1–2 happen before Strange New Worlds; Season 2 brings Pike, Spock, and Una aboard. Seasons 3–5 leap far into the future and tell their own story. None of it is required before Picard.

The TOS movies.
Skipping The Original Series show? These six films are a shorter Kirk-era route. Watch them before Generations if you want more time with the original crew; they are optional for the main Picard path.
